SMSPortal will be changing the IP’s of its core services to virtual IP’s on Sunday, 8 April 2018 from 14h00 - 17h00 (UTC+2) allowing us to failover and load balance incoming traffic better. This will mean our websites as well as our API end points (including HTTP, Web Services and SQL) will receive a new IP address.
For most clients this will not be an issue as during DNS resolution the new IP will be received and all services will continue without any downtime. However, if you are running a firewall or any other security device allowing a single IP, your service will potentially stop working as the new IP is not allowed and your firewall will block it. We therefore recommend that all of the IP’s and domains listed below are whitelisted in your environment.
All of the work will be completed by our most experienced SMSPortal engineers.
As with any upgrade or maintenance work, the risk profile of the platform is increased throughout. This maintenance has been classified as low risk with service disruption of up to 30 minutes per server during the maintenance window period. No messages or data will be lost, it will all be staged during the maintenance leg for that particular server and resume once the maintenance is completed.
